Central Community Homes is a non-profit registered charity that now owns all the Affordable Social Housing in Winkler. The Affordable Housing program provides subsidized rents for individuals and families in greatest need of safe, affordable housing. Our unique community-based program provides not only homes, but the supports needed to help people seeking health, wellness & belonging.

The Housing First Model prevents homelessness by providing secure and safe housing, which encourages improved quality of life and promotes self-sufficiency. This proven model recognizes that we all need safe homes before we can address other challenges in our lives.

Central Community Homes has partnered with Central Station, our local community centre in Winkler, offering professional property management, tenant support, and accountability for the tenants in this program.

With a waitlist of over 100 applicants, there is growing need in our community for affordable housing. Central Community Homes continues to work to meet the need of providing more homes for some of our most vulnerable members.

Proceeds from raffle ticket purchases go to financially support our current project that is under construction: Central Commons, a new 28-unit apartment in downtown Winkler. This apartment is designed to offer not just a place to call home, but creating a safe, supportive apartment community through ongoing connection and care provided by Central Station.
