About Prairie Strides

Founded in 1977, Prairie Strides (formerly Manitoba Riding for the Disabled Association) provides children aged 5 to 15 years with disabilities, an adaptive horseback riding program to enhance their quality of life. Adaptive riding can help children with diagnoses such as cerebral palsy, visual impairment, autism, and other developmental challenges. Prairie Strides provides children with disabilities the life-changing experience of a newfound sense of physical freedom, improves balance and coordination, strengthens muscles, not to mention the social and emotional benefits of connecting with horses, volunteers, and other riders.

Prairie Strides is guided by an Executive Director, a volunteer working Board of Directors, and over 100 volunteers, funded solely by donors, fundraising and grant applications. We would like to thank you in advance for your contribution.
