McCain Free Fry Day and 50/50 in support of RMHC Manitoba

RMHC Manitoba provides a “home-away-from-home” for critically ill, chronically ill, and seriously injured children and their families. In 2021, RMHC Manitoba supported 866 families with essential services, provided 3,892 nights of accommodation, and saved Winnipeg and rural Manitoba families an estimated $1,020,000 in costly, out-of-pocket expenses. The RMHC Manitoba mission is delivered through its two core programs, Ronald McDonald House on Bannatyne Avenue and Ronald McDonald Family Room in HSC Children’s Hospital.

RMHC Manitoba is proud to open a new Ronald McDonald House program for families this summer! The new RMHC Manitoba Ronald McDonald House will provide more families with essential services 24/7/365 days a year as they face the challenges of childhood illness or injury together. The project is a 186% increase in mission delivery, growing from 11,000 sq. ft. to 48,000 sq. ft. and from 14 to 40 bedrooms with private washrooms. The House will include two kitchens to support meal programs, multipurpose rooms, specialty suites to serve bone marrow and organ transplant patients, secure parking, as well as indoor and outdoor play areas.

Today, more children are healing than ever before. Families from across Manitoba, Northwestern Ontario, and beyond need the essential services, support, accommodations, infrastructure, and design a new Ronald McDonald House can provide. RMHC Manitoba looks forward to offering the new facility for families in need and helping more families stay close to the medical care their sick children require and close to each other.
