Important Update From Funding Change
Dear Valued Partners of Funding Change,
Some of you may have seen a recent story in the Winnipeg Free Press about a lawsuit we have filed against our former CEO.
I want to speak to you directly about this. The matter involves events that we believe took place in the past. When we first became aware of the situation more than a year ago, our priority was clear: protect our partners and our mission. We moved quickly to refinance the business so that no partner would be negatively affected, and we immediately resolved outstanding matters with the CRA and other creditors.
We were transparent with the Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority (LGCA), working closely with them throughout their investigation. We also engaged MNP in Winnipeg to complete a thorough, independent audit. Thanks to these efforts, we remain in good standing as a licensed gaming supplier.
But we didn’t stop there. We’ve strengthened our leadership team and our financial position to ensure we are ready for the future. We appointed Jamie Gowryluk as our new President and Chief Operating Officer. Jamie brings a proven track record of leadership and sales success from her time at SkipTheDishes and in the health care industry.
We also welcomed Manny Atwal to our Board of Directors. Manny is currently the COO of People Corp., a former CEO of the MLCC, and a respected sales leader with a distinguished career at StandardAero.
Funding Change is stronger than ever, and our focus remains where it has always been, helping you and your organizations raise the funds that make a difference in your communities. The future is bright, and we’re excited to continue being your trusted partner in charitable fundraising.
With gratitude,
David Asper, K.C. Chair
