Variety's mission is to step in where government, healthcare, school divisions and other funding sources end to provide proven solutions to enrich the lives of children in Manitoba living with special needs and economic disadvantage. Variety recognizes that support is essential, early intervention is critical and families we assist struggle to deal with the overwhelming cost of their child’s care. Under our three core program areas, Variety works with organizations and individuals to provide and deliver life-saving, life- changing and life-enriching equipment, supplies and services.

Jenna has made consistent progress with access to regular tutoring sessions! Jenna uses full sentences with accurate grammar to articulate her needs and is doing very well with reading beginning reader books with pictures that match the text. Jenna entered middle school this fall and is working on catching up to her peers. Variety’s Special Needs Program is so important for children like Jenna, it provides them with the extra support they need to thrive. Jenna is living with autism and an intellectual disability and tutoring sessions are making a big difference for her learning and participation at school.

Did you know ,Variety Manitoba has a waitlist of kids who need our help? There are currently over 40 children on our waitlist for support. 

On average, we receive 1 new application for support every single day. The average funding request we receive, is over $2,000!

A lot of the families we support work low-income jobs and have been laid off due to the pandemic. They were already struggling to support their child but now it’s even harder to make ends meet.  We are the last organization who can help these children because their requests are not covered by healthcare or other government funding.
